Core Purpose

Support the coordination of electrical activities to optimise efficiency while maintaining product quality. Ensure all on-site work is properly controlled and carried out in accordance with established procedures. Collaborate with team members and departments, including regular interaction with managers and team leads across various areas of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Work closely with Supervisors to identify, prioritise, and manage workloads effectively.
  • Prepare electrical materials and equipment to support operational and project requirements.
  • Carry out the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment in both hazardous and non-hazardous areas.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance, testing, fault diagnosis, and repair of existing assets, ensuring all associated documentation is completed accurately.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure activities are completed efficiently and within required timescales.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Supervisor or Team Lead regarding job status and completion.
  • Undertake offsite and offshore work activities as required.
  • Contribute to the management and promotion of HSE practices within own area of responsibility.
  • Ensure high standards of quality are maintained within own area of responsibility.
  • Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and surveyors as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings accurately to support installation and maintenance of work.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Excellent technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and communicate potential risks or obstacles to project delivery.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
  • Effective at managing pressure while ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified electrician with certification from an approved body (e.g. SQA, City and Guilds).
  • CompEx certified or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations or equivalent national standards.
