We are currently seeking a Data Analyst to join our Group Division.

Location: Dyce, Aberdeen, United Kingdom.

Core Purpose

  • Support the delivery of key BI and IT initiatives, including master data management, data warehousing, and analyst capability development programmes.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality reporting, analytics, and data solutions using Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Excel.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand operational and commercial challenges, translating requirements into actionable insights and solutions.
  • Build strong business knowledge and trusted relationships to evolve into a strategic business partnering role, driving data-informed decision making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across OEG business units to understand reporting requirements, business processes, and performance challenges, translating these into effective data and reporting solutions.
  • Translate business questions and requirements into clear analytical outputs, reporting specifications, and practical data-driven solutions.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights and support informed decision-making across the Group.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data models, relationships, measures, and calculations using DAX and Power Query to support accurate and scalable reporting.
  • Utilise Excel for data analysis, modelling, reconciliation, and the creation of stakeholder-facing reports and outputs where appropriate.
  • Provide insightful analysis and commentary to help stakeholders understand business performance, identify trends, and assess risks and opportunities.
  • Support the standardisation of reporting, KPI definitions, and business metrics to ensure consistency and alignment across the Group.
  • Identify and support the resolution of data quality issues, inconsistencies, and reporting gaps to improve the reliability of business information.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, IT, finance, and operational teams to source, transform, and integrate data from multiple systems and platforms.
  • Provide guidance and support to end users to drive adaptation and effective use of Power BI and other reporting tools across the business.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual reporting processes, reduce duplication, and improve overall reporting efficiency.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring analytics solutions are both technically robust and commercially relevant.

Skills and Experience

Required

  • Experience in data analyst, BI analyst, reporting analyst, or similar role within a data driven environment.
  • Strong experience designing, developing and maintaining reports and dashboards in Power BI.
  • Good working knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and core data modelling principles.
  • Strong Excel skills, including data analysis, advanced formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data validation.
  • Ability to gather, clarify, and document business requirements effectively, translating them into clear technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy.
  • Ability to translate data into clear insights, actionable recommendations, and meaningful business outcomes.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive, curious, and commercially aware mindset with a strong interest in understanding business performance drivers.

Desirable

  • Experience within oil and gas, renewables, offshore services, energy, engineering, logistics, project-based, or other asset-intensive industries.
  • Familiarity with ERP, finance, project management, CRM, asset management, or other operational business systems.
  • Experience writing SQL queries to extract and analyse data.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and modern data platforms.
  • Experience supporting senior management reporting, KPI packs, and performance review processes.
  • Knowledge of Python, APIs, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, SharePoint, or Power Automate is advantageous.

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Computing, Data Science, or a related discipline.
