OEG is hiring a Diving Technician in Liverpool, United Kingdom. The role involves performing planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on diving equipment. OEG is a leading energy solutions business, providing mission-critical infrastructure assets and services to the global offshore energy industry.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Perform planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components of diving equipment.
  • Test all diving and project-related equipment.
  • Manage mobilisation and demobilisation of diving and project-related equipment and units, both locally and overseas.
  • Ensure that assembly, testing, and repair activities are performed in accordance with standard procedures, including IMCA, WOD-SOE, and applicable quality standards.
  • Perform quality control of equipment in accordance with IMCA, WOD-SOE, and OEG quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety policies.
  • Provide reports on changes to standards, whether internally or externally initiated, and on performance against those standards.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors on system-related tasks.
  • Ensure that any changes to equipment or systems are fully authorised, comply with established standards, and are supported by drawings and technical documentation in accordance with engineering procedures.
  • Maintain test and certification records within the BMS.
  • Organise and supervise all tests and certifications conducted by external contractors or certifying authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with IMCA and ISO standards.
  • Execute work in accordance with company and client QHSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintain spares at the required inventory levels.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components of diving and project-related equipment.
  • Available to work offshore as required.

QHSE responsibilities:

  • To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.
  • Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.
  • Promote a proactive health and safety culture focused on the prevention of work-related injury or ill health and continual improvement in our processes/performance.
  • Promote environmental sustainability and energy efficiency whilst minimising our environmental impacts and preventing pollution.
  • Promote a quality culture that brings value to our business, our customers, and other interested parties ensuring quality issues and opportunities for improvement are identified and implemented.

Skills and experiences:

  • Intermediate technical education in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical engineering.
  • Demonstrated strong interest in pursuing a career in the dive-related industry.
  • Good knowledge of electrical voltage safety practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical equipment and associated software.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and adjust electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic line drawings.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • Offshore industry experience is desirable but not required for this position.
  • Good knowledge of industry standards and relevant legislation compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Willing to obtain industry-related certifications.
