What We\’re Looking For…
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Executive to join our well established and growing finance team. This person will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Department by performing various financial and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organised, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the Financial Controller this role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their finance career to learn and develop their skills. This person should have a proactive attitude and will be excited to make the most of this opportunity. Some experience in an FCMG environment would be beneficial.
The role is based in Leyton, London (UK) and working from the office full time.
Your Day To Day Responsibilities…
- Accounts Payable:
- Process and reconcile purchase invoices and bookkeeping
- Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments
- Assist with queries and resolutions of aged balance accounts.
- Financial Reporting:
- Working collaboratively with reporting aged debtors & creditors.
- Assist with record keeping of cost centres.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Enter financial data into accounting software accurately
- Maintain organised and updated financial records
- Reconciliation:
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, time sheets and PO validations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance Department
- Ability to provide cover to other members of the finance team when required
- Assist with filing, scanning, and document management
- Compliance and Auditing:
- Conduct regular internal audits: pricing, stock and accounting entries.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Communication:
- Liaise with vendors, customers, and other departments to resolve financial issues
- Provide support and information to team members and management as needed.
- Maintain alignment with the Finance team agenda.
Requirements
- 1+ years experience in accountable payable
- Bachelor\’s degree in Finance, Accounting, (or equivalent AAT, ACA, CIMA student)
- Advanced in accounting software (e.g. IQ by Intact, SAP)
- Strong Excel skills.
- Working knowledge of Office 365 (Power BI is advantageous)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
