Senior Research Associate – Energy and Infrastructure Investment – Europe

ODM Partners have been exclusively mandated to appoint a Senior VP / Junior Financing Director for a leading pan-European infrastructure investor. This role sits within the Capital Markets team, which supports financing activity across the platform spanning acquisitions, refinancings, and broader capital structuring initiatives. Working closely with the investment teams across Europe and selected international markets, the role will focus on optimising financing structures, managing debt advisor and lender processes, and ensuring consistency and efficiency across portfolio and transaction financings.

Candidate Profile

8–12 years of experience in debt advisory, leveraged finance or structured finance. Must have hands‑on experience executing acquisition financings and refinancings for sponsor‑led transactions (i.e. private equity or infrastructure funds).
Demonstrated expertise in structuring and executing acquisition financings and refinancings, including lender engagement, documentation (SPA/SHA familiarity) and debt process management.
Proven ability to operate autonomously and manage full deal processes within lean teams.
Commercially minded, with sound judgement and strong stakeholder management skills.
Relationship‑driven, able to balance technical rigour with strong interpersonal skills when engaging with lenders, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
Collaborative, pragmatic, and low‑ego personality suited to a collegiate and cost‑conscious environment.
Willingness to travel to other European offices.

Key Responsibilities

Debt Structuring: Lead the design and implementation of financing solutions for new acquisitions and portfolio refinancings.
Transaction Support: Advise investment teams on financing considerations throughout the deal lifecycle.
Market Engagement: Manage relationships with lenders, advisors and financial institutions to secure competitive financing terms.
Process Management: Coordinate advisor and lender processes, ensuring efficiency and alignment with investment objectives.
Strategic Input: Contribute to firmwide financing standards, benchmarking and best practices across geographies.
Portfolio Optimisation: Support the development of refinancing strategies that enhance long‑term capital efficiency.
