Temporary Warehouse Operative Salary: £26,325–£28,500 per year, depending on experience Contract: Temporary (3–6 months)
We’re looking for a hands-on Warehouse Operative to join our AV team in Reading on a temporary basis.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same – you’ll be responsible for keeping the warehouse running smoothly while supporting our engineers and project teams.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across our Service, Installation, Technical and Project Management teams, as well as with our warehouses in Stockport and Hertford.
There may be occasional travel to our Hertford site.
What you’ll be doing
- Picking, packing, labelling and preparing equipment for delivery or collection.
- Receiving, checking and storing incoming goods.
- Carrying out stock checks and keeping inventory records up to date.
- Working with Project Managers and other teams to make sure the right kit is ready when needed.
- Preparing and clearly labelling equipment for engineer collections.
- Resolving any issues with job requests or returned equipment.
- Cleaning, testing and re-stocking AV equipment.
- Helping with warehouse administration and supporting AV projects when required.
- Keeping the warehouse clean, safe and well organised.
- Assisting the UK Warehouse Manager with warehouse and fleet-related tasks.
- Opening and securing the warehouse when needed.
- Providing basic support for company vehicles at the Reading site.
- Occasionally transporting equipment between our Reading and Hertford locations.
What we’re looking for
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Great communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Good attention to detail and confidence working with numbers.
- The ability to stay calm and organised when things get busy.
- A good understanding of health and safety.
- Basic IT skills, including Excel.
- Someone who is happy working independently and as part of a team.
- A full UK driving licence
