The Odin Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Assembly Operative to join a well-established workshop manufacturing high-quality MDF products. This role would suit someone with a joinery or woodworking background who takes real pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. If you have excellent attention to detail, enjoy precision-based work, and have experience operating woodworking machinery, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive production team, you will be responsible for assembling MDF products to a consistently high standard. You'll work from basic technical drawings, use a range of hand tools and machinery, and ensure every product meets strict quality standards before leaving the workshop.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in joinery, woodworking, cabinet making or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Confident using hand tools such as drills, saws, sanders, brad guns and glue guns.
  • Experience operating woodworking or production machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings.
  • Excellent measuring skills with a high level of accuracy and precision.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
  • Someone who takes pride in their workmanship and never cuts corners.
  • Able to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Good concentration and the ability to maintain quality throughout the working day. Quality is always more important than speed.

The successful candidate will understand the importance of getting the job right first time and will enjoy working in a friendly, supportive team where everyone contributes to delivering exceptional products to customers.

Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:30am – 2:00pm
  • Optional weekend overtime available depending on customer demand.

Pay

£16.80 per hour (including holiday pay entitlement)

Additional Information

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. Due to the workshop location and limited public transport links, own transport is recommended.
