A leading manufacturing organisation operating within a highly regulated production environment is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with an electrical bias to support site reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement activities. This is a full-time position working a rotating weekly shift pattern:
- Week 1: Early Shift – 06:00 to 14:00
- Week 2: Late Shift – 14:00 to 22:30
- Every 5th Friday off
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving, and supporting high-performing manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, acting as a key technical support within the engineering function. Working within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment, you will play an important role in maintaining and improving production equipment, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring engineering standards remain compliant and audit-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve production assets, with a strong focus on electrical systems, controls, and automation
- Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities and equipment reliability initiatives
- Respond to breakdowns and lead fault-finding activities to minimise downtime
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions
- Support calibration and validation activities across manufacturing equipment
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed in line with GMP and quality standards
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to support operational performance
- Assist with continuous improvement projects and drive engineering best practices
- Provide guidance and technical support to engineers and technicians
- Deputise for the Maintenance Manager when required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Electrical bias with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability
- Experience working with manufacturing and process equipment such as:
- Filling and packaging lines
- Conveyors
- Sterilisation equipment
- Granulators and tablet presses
- Water systems and associated utilities
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Time-served engineer with a balanced electrical and mechanical skill set
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within an engineering or maintenance environment
Desirable Experience
- Experience leading root cause analysis investigations
- Background working within GMP or other regulated manufacturing environments
- Continuous improvement and reliability engineering experience
