About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Working Works Manager to oversee daily workshop operations while actively contributing to production. This is a key role within the business, working closely with Directors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This position is ideal for someone with strong fabrication and welding experience who is ready to take ownership of workshop coordination and develop into a broader leadership role over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations within the workshop
- Ensure good working practices are maintained at all times
- Take responsibility for Health & Safety compliance within the workshop
- Organise and prioritise workflow to meet agreed delivery dates
- Work closely with Directors to plan production schedules
- Carry out welding and fabrication work as required
- Conduct inspections of completed work (training provided where required)
- Sign off completed jobs prior to delivery (training provided)
- Support continuous improvement in workshop processes and efficiency
About You
- Proven experience in welding and fabrication
- Previous workshop supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Good understanding of Health & Safety in a manufacturing/workshop environment
- Quality-focused with attention to detail
- Proactive, hands-on approach
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with senior management
