An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Baby Room Leader or Room-Based Deputy Manager to join a thriving, well-established nursery in South London. This role would suit a passionate Early Years professional who enjoys working with babies, leading by example, and creating a nurturing environment where children can flourish during the most important stage of their development.
The Role
- You'll be responsible for leading the Baby Room team, ensuring exceptional standards of care and education are delivered every day while supporting and mentoring colleagues.
- For candidates with additional leadership experience, there is also an opportunity to join as a Room-Based Deputy Manager, combining hands-on practice within the Baby Room with wider leadership responsibilities across the nursery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the Baby Room
- Deliver outstanding care and learning experiences for children aged 0-2 years
- Support, mentor and inspire fellow practitioners
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers
- Ensure full compliance with EYFS, safeguarding and nursery policies
- Maintain accurate observations, assessments and planning
- Promote a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment
Requirements
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
- Previous experience working within a Baby Room
- Experience as a Room Leader or Senior Practitioner preferred
- Deputy Manager experience welcomed for applicants seeking the higher-level role
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional childcare
