Our client is a well-established precision engineering organisation operating within the aerospace sector. The business specialises in the manufacture of complex components for both civil and defence applications and has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team.
The Role
This position will play a key role in ensuring that all products meet stringent aerospace quality standards. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures and control plans
- Perform inspection and verification of materials, components, and finished products
- Investigate non-conformances and lead root cause analysis with corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and customer requirements
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to embed quality processes
- Conduct internal and supplier audits, supporting supplier performance improvements
- Maintain accurate quality documentation, including FAIRs, NCRs, and inspection reports
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality management system
- Provide guidance to production teams on quality standards and best practices
Requirements
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in a Quality Engineering role within aerospace or precision engineering
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards
- Experience with inspection tools, measurement techniques, and quality documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills (e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8D)
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
