A new permanent role has come in for an electrical maintenance engineer in Knowsley (Merseyside) based on the following criteria:
- Looking for an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a busy, forward-thinking manufacturing site in the L34 area.
- This is a hands-on, varied role supporting the smooth operation of high-speed production lines.
- You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a range of machinery and equipment to minimise downtime and ensure efficient production.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with schedules and quality standards.
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, minimising production downtime.
- Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic faults on a range of production machinery.
- Record all maintenance activities accurately using job sheets or CMMS where applicable.
- Work collaboratively with production and warehouse teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
- Assist with equipment installations, changeovers, and small engineering projects when required.
- Participate in shift handovers and communicate clearly with incoming/outgoing team members.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to reduce downtime, waste, or inefficiency.
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
- Flexible approach to working shifts and overtime during busy periods.
Hours and rates: Monday to Friday.
