An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead a well-established and highly regarded Early Years setting in South London. This is an ideal role for a confident leader who is committed to delivering outstanding childcare, supporting staff development, and creating an exceptional environment for children, families, and colleagues.

The Role

As Nursery Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding, compliance, and customer service are maintained at all times. You will work closely with your Deputy Manager to ensure the nursery operates effectively throughout the week, providing strong leadership, clear direction, and a positive culture for both children and staff. This position offers genuine autonomy, allowing you to organise your working time to ensure the nursery remains fully operational and successful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the nursery team
  • Ensure compliance with all EYFS, safeguarding and regulatory requirements
  • Drive occupancy and maintain strong relationships with families
  • Manage staff performance, recruitment and development
  • Oversee budgets, resources and operational performance
  • Maintain high standards of care, learning and child development
  • Prepare for and support regulatory inspections
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and professional nursery culture

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager or Senior Leader within an Early Years setting
  • Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or above)
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding requirements
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Passion for delivering exceptional outcomes for children
