ODIN Recruitment are looking for an experienced and reliable Groundworker to join our clients construction team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of groundwork and civil engineering tasks to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities * Carry out all aspects of block paving, including ground preparation, laying, cutting, and finishing.
- Complete concrete works, including foundations, slabs, footings, and other structural concrete installations.
- Construct, erect, and dismantle formwork (shuttering) for concrete works.
- Safely operate abrasive wheel equipment for cutting concrete, paving, kerbs, and other construction materials.
- Install ducting for utilities, including drainage, electrical, water, and telecommunications services.
- Lay paving, kerbs, edging, and associated hard landscaping works.
- Excavate and prepare sites for foundations and utility installations.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and site plans.
- Use of hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
- Work collaboratively with site managers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Comply with all company policies, site rules, and current health and safety legislation.
- Report any hazards, defects, or incidents promptly to site management. Person Specification Essential * Previous experience as a Groundworker within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in block paving, paving, concrete works, formwork, ducting, and the safe use of abrasive wheels.
- Good understanding of construction methods and health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing high-quality work.
- Valid CSCS Card.
