As Engineering Manager, you will lead the engineering function to maximise plant reliability, efficiency, and safety. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement, implementing effective maintenance strategies, and leading a high-performing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance strategy to minimise downtime and optimise asset performance.
- Lead, coach, and develop a multi-skilled engineering team to ensure strong performance and engagement.
- Manage engineering budgets, contractors, and procurement activities to support cost-effective operations.
- Drive optimisation of the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) to improve maintenance planning and asset reliability.
- Collaborate with operations teams on continuous improvement initiatives and production targets.
- Lead capital expenditure projects and planned shutdown activities through to successful completion.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and ISO standards.
- Strong electrical and control systems expertise gained within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in an engineering management role in manufacturing.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including PLCs and machine control systems.
- Experience managing engineering budgets, including consumable and capital expenditure.
- Proficient in CMMS administration and Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven ability to lead multifunctional teams and deliver operational improvements.
- HND or Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.
- TPM/Autonomous Maintenance experience desirable; Lean manufacturing experience advantageous.
- IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety qualification desirable.
Salary: Approximately £60,000 per year (depending on experience).
