We’re looking for an experienced and personable Broker Support Executive to become a trusted point of contact for a portfolio of insurance brokers.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience within insurance broking, underwriting or a customer-focused environment who wants to move into a more relationship-led position.

You’ll become the go-to person for your allocated brokers, helping them navigate everything from onboarding and insurer support to training, queries and day-to-day challenges.

You’ll build strong relationships, understand what your brokers need and work closely with internal teams and external partners to make sure they receive an exceptional level of support.

It’s a role with plenty of variety, autonomy and opportunity to develop your insurance knowledge further.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of a panel of brokers and build genuine, long-term working relationships with them.

Your role will include

  • Acting as the main point of contact for your allocated brokers, providing responsive and professional support by phone and email.
  • Taking ownership of queries from start to finish, resolving them yourself wherever possible or bringing in the right internal team when needed.
  • Building strong relationships with brokers and becoming a trusted “go-to” contact for their day-to-day needs.
  • Arranging regular meetings with your broker panel, virtually, by telephone and occasionally face-to-face where required.
  • Supporting new brokers through the onboarding process and helping them get up and running successfully.
  • Building your knowledge of insurers and third-party providers so you can confidently introduce relevant products, services and solutions to your brokers.
  • Supporting brokers with placement requirements and bespoke scheme opportunities.
  • Keeping up to date with areas such as compliance, aged debt and other requirements relevant to your broker panel.
  • Working collaboratively with the Broker Development Team to identify suitable solutions and opportunities.
  • Supporting potential new broker prospects through initial enquiries and the joining process.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all relevant activity is kept up to date on internal systems.
  • What we’re looking for

Above all, we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and takes ownership of getting things done.

You might currently be working in insurance broking or underwriting and be ready to move into a more relationship-focused role.

Alternatively, you may come from a strong customer service background and be looking to build a career within insurance.

You’ll ideally have

  • Around 4 years' experience within insurance broking, underwriting or a customer-focused environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and a genuine desire to exceed expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The confidence to build relationships with people at all levels.
  • Strong organisation and administration skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive “can do” approach and the ability to take ownership rather than wait to be asked.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work effectively with a degree of autonomy.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Experience with Acturis and knowledge of broking and insurer processes would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Personal and/or Commercial Lines insurance would be beneficial.
  • Completion of, or willingness to work towards, Cert CII.

Don't have all of the insurance experience listed above?

That's not necessarily a deal-breaker.

The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service and relationship-building mindset, with the willingness to develop their technical insurance knowledge and work towards professional qualifications.

Why this role?

This isn't simply a support role.

You'll have your own portfolio of broker relationships, giving you the opportunity to build trust, develop your insurance knowledge and become a valued partner to the businesses you support.

You'll also work across a broad range of internal teams, insurers and third-party providers, giving you exposure to different areas of the insurance market and plenty of scope to develop.

You'll benefit from

  • A relationship-focused role with genuine ownership of your broker portfolio.
  • The opportunity to build and develop long-term professional relationships.
  • Exposure to a wide range of insurance products, insurers and service providers.
  • Support and development towards Cert CII.
  • A collaborative team environment with strong internal support.
  • The flexibility to work remotely/hybrid, with meetings and travel where required.
  • A role where excellent customer service, initiative and relationship-building are genuinely valued.
