Technical Designer

We are currently looking for an AutoCAD and Revit proficient Technical Designer to join our design and build team (ODCreate) on a fixed-term basis, working within the project teams to support the pre-construction, procurement and delivery phases of each project.

The Technical Designer should have a deep understanding of construction methods, buildability, and the products used in fit-out and refurbishment projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Working under the supervision of the Head of Technical Design to run own projects from start to finish from a technical perspective
• Developing detailed construction drawing packs in AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Coordinating technical design on site, advising our project and site managers on buildability issues
• Completing site surveys and building analysis
• Understanding relevant procurement routes and their nuances (design and build / detail and build)
• Challenging and developing each design with the project team to meet client requirements
• Liaising with sub-contractors on technical aspects of design and buildability
• Assessing, updating and maintaining design documentation for each project
• Attending project meetings, to check project progress and that subcontractor works comply with the signed-off design
• Ensuring designs adhere to UK building control regulations/BSA
• Attending sub-contractor, site, and client design meetings as required
• Briefing and coordinating freelance design resource where required
• Skills and experience required:
• Experience in a similar role within the commercial fit-out or construction industry
• Excellent attention to detail; a process-driven approach with good time management and ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple priorities
• Proficient in AutoCAD Architecture; working knowledge of Revit would be beneficial for the future
• A team player who takes accountability and seeks continuous improvement
