ODCreate is a leading Turnkey Design & Build office interiors company based in the City of London, delivering high-quality workplace environments for both consultant-led and direct clients. As part of ODGroup, we combine design expertise with construction excellence to provide a seamless end-to-end service - from concept and design development through to project delivery and completion.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Head of Construction to join the leadership team at ODCreate. This role will take overall responsibility for the construction delivery of all ODCreate projects, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the construction function, supporting project teams, developing delivery processes, and ensuring consistent standards across all sites. They will also contribute to the strategic growth of ODCreate, working closely with the Managing Director and wider leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Act as a senior member of the ODCreate leadership team, contributing to the strategic direction and growth of the business.
- Lead, mentor and develop the construction management team, including Construction Managers, Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers.
- Build a high-performing construction team, ensuring appropriate resourcing across current and future projects.
- Develop short, medium and long-term resourcing strategies to support the continued growth of ODCreate.
Project Delivery
- Take overall responsibility for the successful construction delivery of all ODCreate projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Provide leadership and support to project teams across all construction phases.
- Act as Project Lead or Senior Project Manager on major or complex projects where required, particularly during the growth phase of the business.
- Ensure effective coordination between design, technical services, commercial and construction teams.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Champion the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance across all ODCreate sites.
- Ensure all projects comply with legal, regulatory and company health and safety requirements.
- Promote a culture of proactive safety leadership and continuous improvement across all project teams.
Operational Excellence
- Develop, implement and continuously improve construction delivery standards, processes and procedures in line with ODGroup governance.
- Drive improvements in quality management, defect prevention and programme performance.
- Implement best practice across site operations to maximise efficiency, productivity and client satisfaction.
- Champion the use of digital construction tools and project management platforms, including:
- Procore
- SustainIQ
- 1Breadcrumb
- Encourage the adoption of innovative approaches to improve site coordination, reporting and project transparency.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
- Support client engagement through project meetings, reporting and performance updates.
- Work collaboratively with the ODCreate leadership and business development teams to support new business opportunities and tender submissions.
Supply Chain & Commercial Collaboration
- Work closely with the commercial and procurement teams to ensure strong subcontractor engagement and performance.
- Support the development and diversification of the ODCreate supply chain.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and delivery partners.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Report regularly to the ODGroup Board on construction delivery performance and project metrics.
- Provide weekly updates to the ODCreate Managing Director, highlighting progress, risks, mitigation strategies and delivery solutions.
- Monitor key delivery metrics including programme performance, quality, safety and project profitability.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience delivering commercial fit-out and workplace projects, ideally within a Design & Build environment.
- A strong track record of leading construction teams and delivering fast-track interior projects.
- Deep technical understanding of building fabric, workplace fit-out and building services integration.
- Strong knowledge of construction management, programme planning and site delivery.
- High level of commercial awareness and risk management capability.
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with digital construction tools and project management systems.
