About the role

Our CFO & Financial Management Practice is an established leader in appointing Financial Directors and CFOs across all sectors in a range of businesses both public and private.We have a market-leading capability at Board level and pride ourselves on the depth of our network and the advice we can provide to the broader financial community. Alongside Board appointments, we also are experienced at recruiting Global Controllers.

Our team are consistently entrusted to execute on the most prominent and complex CFO appointments on behalf of our Government, Regulators, Royal Families, FTSE 100 companies to small cap businesses, and Private Equity/Venture Capital to not-for-profit organisations.

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Researcher to join our team. You do not need to have specific CFO experience but you must have previous research experience in executive search and an interest and desire to learn more about our world.

Ideally this person would be based in (or within commuting distance to) London, as they will be spending 3 days in the office, ideally.

Candidates should bring strong experience in research and process management and the ability to liaise with candidates and clients across a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds.Critical attributes for this role include excellent communication and report writing skills, meticulous documentation management, a transparent communication approach and the ability to work at pace.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to work with many different people.

  • A keen interest in business and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders from board to C-Suite level.
  • Appreciation for the CFO function and its central role in the development and growth of our clients’ businesses.

  • The ability to provide original insights and timely observations on the CFO function across commerce and industry.
  • The ability to proactively manage timelines and expectations on a project from inception to completion, which will require a good sense of timing, persistence, and patience, but most importantly, communication.
  • An ability to work autonomously, in a flat, non-hierarchical company structure with a culture of unity and collaboration.
  • Intellectually curious with a desire to learn, a broad outlook bringing creative thinking, and common sense.
