A vacancy has arisen for the position of Workshop Mechanic within our Well Services Department based in Portlethen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, inspections, and testing of hydraulic, mechanical and manually operated equipment
  • Perform specialised maintenance on tools/equipment in accordance with company procedures
  • Prepare and complete load outs of tools/equipment to rig/base
  • Assist in the housekeeping of the Odfjell Technology facility, including all work areas and Yard
  • Assist in Goods In activities to receive, control, mark, and store equipment at the base
  • Ongoing self‑inspection of performed work
  • Ensure that all material movements are carried out in a cost‑effective and safe manner
  • Participate in the OTL Safety Observation System at the worksite, including reporting incidents and near misses, unsafe behaviours and conditions
  • Ensure ongoing quality of service is provided, and that all internal and external clients’ requirements are met
  • Support in the provision of training to new warehouse staff as required
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of various functions of other departments and shore‑based operations
  • At all times represent the Company in a professional manner both on and off the job, including maintaining confidentiality of Company and client business
  • At all times follow the OTL HSE Rules and safety expectations
  • Participate in company training/courses, and general meetings as/when required
  • Travel other locations if requested
  • Perform any other duties as directed by your supervisor

Qualifications

  • The right to work in the UK
  • Qualification in a mechanical discipline
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of mechanical experience in a similar role
  • Preferred but not essential: Experience with Tubular Running Equipment (power tongs, power units, casing running tools)
  • Preferred but not essential: Travelling crane and forklift certification
