A vacancy has arisen for the position of Rope Access NDT Inspector as part of our Rig Inspection Services (RIS) Team. The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the duties outlined below:

  • The position is offshore based, may require office attendance at company discretion.
  • Work with other disciplines and business units to meet customer requirements.
  • Support key internal stakeholders across the business to ensure operational success.
  • Identify opportunities for operational excellence and cost saving.
  • Ensure that the competence regarding standards and regulations are up to date.
  • Have knowledge of the system applications that are used by the Company.
  • Carry out the most effective NDT techniques to components requiring inspection, including conventional and digital equipment.
  • Utilise Rope Access capabilities when required working at height for long periods of time.
  • Perform rope access inspection safely in harsh environments ensuring that regular breaks are taken.
  • Ensure function tests are performed according to the procedure on all NDT equipment, and any faulty equipment is detailed back to the supervisor.
  • Evaluate results of the test in accordance with applicable specification.
  • Produce a clear and concise report detailing the methods used in and results of the inspection and all findings, noting any limitations/test restrictions that are applicable.
  • Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires and/or as directed by supervisor.
  • Participate in project specific risk assessments.
  • Ensure inspection is carried out within the parameters of the applicable specification.
  • Carry out work in accordance with Odfjell procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements.
  • Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the onshore/offshore inspection sector.
  • ASNT or PCN Level 2 certification within ET, MT, PT and UT (UT minimum to ISO 16809:2025).
  • Offshore Certificates: UK medical, survival and MIST.
  • Valid Eye Test Certification.
  • Rope Access: IRATA Level 1 with 3 years minimum experience.
