Job Purpose

As Senior Sales Manager - Media & Gifting, you'll oversee the implementation and management of the advertising sales strategy, with a major focus on driving revenue through Film Advertising, Brand Advertising, and our Gifting products.

Additionally, the role includes the cultivation and management of partnerships with key collaborators for the distribution of Gift cards through both online and brick-and-mortar retailers.

The scope extends to actively contribute to the development of innovative and profitable revenue streams for both the UK and the wider Group.

This encompasses leading initiatives to optimise business assets, exploring new avenues for revenue generation, and enhancing existing revenue streams and relationships.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • Lead and manage the Advertising Sales team, conducting regular one‑on‑one sessions and performance reviews.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust professional relationships with clients through effective Account Management and leadership.
  • Ensure the successful execution of the sales plan by coordinating key distributor sales campaigns and projects, fostering relationships with existing film contacts, and engaging with third parties.
  • Oversee the implementation of third‑party brand sales campaigns and projects, aligning efforts with the overall sales plan.
  • Exceed monthly and quarterly sales and activity targets set for the Advertising team.
  • Develop Annual Media Packages for Distribution and DCM, along with Gifting Sponsorship opportunities for film distributors and relevant third parties, managing all post‑sales activities to encourage repeat business.
  • Generate and attend appointments to showcase ODEON’s facilities/assets to film distributors and relevant agencies for cinema brand advertising, demonstrating cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Produce comprehensive weekly and monthly sales reports, including forecasts and confirmed sales, for the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Manage the relationship with Blackhawk Network, our third‑party Gift Card partner, including reporting, driving initiatives, and market analysis.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of sales campaigns, providing reports to Film Distribution and suggesting improvements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with communication guidelines to control and effectively utilise all cinema communications.
  • Key Skills
  • Previous advertising sales experience with a detailed understanding gained from a sales account management role is essential.
  • Knowledge of the theatrical business and contacts within the industry is highly desirable.
  • Proven success in sales, lead generation, lead conversion, and team management is essential.
  • Demonstrate multichannel marketing knowledge and a strong understanding of digital media, adopting a commercial and client‑centric approach.
  • Knowledge of ambient media buying, and media sales economics is desirable.
  • Exhibit excellent time‑management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Display self‑motivation and a commitment to high standards of performance, with entrepreneurial flair and a natural sales ability as prerequisites.
  • Bring experience in team management, coupled with good numerical and analytical skills to commercially evaluate activities and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Showcase proven negotiation skills and the ability to drive sales growth and profitability while effectively collaborating with key stakeholders.
