Job Description
As Sound & Projection Engineer, you'll be responsible for the effective support of assigned cinemas ensuring repair, maintenance, and correct functionality of all Sound and Projection (S&P) elements with the primary aim to achieve maximum guest experience and control costs. The jobholder will support cinemas' S&P equipment either preventive, reactive or critical as adequate.
We are currently looking for an Engineer who can be based within the London area or North East England area.
Please note that this is a field-based role which will require you to travel every day between cinemas and work 1-2 weekends every month on a roster basis.
Key Accountabilities:
- To achieve minimal show loss and maximise life of equipment by maintaining all equipment relating to the presentation of feature films and alternative content in accordance with manufacturer guidelines or as instructed by ODEON.
- To ensure that all elements relating to the quality presentation of feature films and/or alternative content is maintained and supported where necessary.
- To operate an 'on call' service when scheduled to support cinemas within and outside of normal working hours/location on rotation basis.
- To assist with any projects involving S&P equipment and maintain good working relationships with external contractors and suppliers.
- To prioritise, plan and deal effectively with technical issues relating to Sound and Projection standards or concerns while also maintaining SLAs, warranty and process requirements.
- To maintain company values and standards and comply with Health and Safety legislation / policies and procedures.
- To communicate training support through other S&P functions.
- To support cinema events as required.
Key Skills:
- A full UK driving licence.
- Be able to show excellent personal behaviours, living the company values in challenging environments.
- Good working knowledge in Sound & Projection cinema operations and a technical passion to develop further to include full functionality of all equipment relating to both hardware and software, and a high degree of interest in audio and visual media.
- Excellent time management, with the ability to self motivate, plan & coordinate to deliver effective and productive work.
- Willingness to make decisions, render judgements and take decisive action to maximise the guest experience.
- Has excellent attention to detail and provides quality work.
- Able to work as a team or as an individual. Often in isolation and in an objective driven environment.
