The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

As Financial Accountant you'll report into the UK&I Finance Manager and will support the monthly and quarterly financial and management reporting for ODEON UK & Ireland, as well as external reporting, budget setting and supporting compliance with the Sox control framework. The successful candidate will take the lead on accounting for inter‑company, as well as take ownership of P&L and balance sheet for various other operating expense areas.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead on inter‑company accounting for UK&I, working with other ODEON group territory finance teams to meet month‑end reporting timelines.
  • Complete monthly P&L and balance sheet reporting for various operating expenses of the UK&I trading business.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in further aspects of financial accounting and management reporting as part of the monthly and quarterly reporting cycle.
  • Support the UK&I statutory reporting obligations including stat accounts production, audit, VAT and tax and any accounting regulations changes.
  • Ensure that Sox controls are operated effectively.
  • Work with internal audit and external audit in the testing of these areas.
  • Provide ad‑hoc financial guidance to support the wider business.

Key Skills

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (CIMA considered with relevant experience).
  • Experience of working within a busy finance function, preferably within a multi‑site, retail, leisure or FMCG environment.
  • Previous experience working with IFRS, US GAAP or Sox controls is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of building relationships outside of the Finance function and dealing with external auditors.
  • Self‑motivated, keen to achieve targets, focuses on results and have proven record of successful delivery of objectives.
  • Experience in Oracle financial systems and Microsoft packages preferred.
  • Ability to both self‑manage and work without supervision and to also be able to work within a team to maximise team and individual performance.
  • Willingness to challenge existing practises by identifying alternative, appropriate and/or innovative solutions.
