As a M&E Operations Manager, you’ll oversee daily operations across restaurant, bar, and events, ensuring service runs smoothly and to the highest standard. You’ll support and develop the M&E team, uphold quality and safety standards, and create memorable experiences for every guest. From motivating your team to managing stock and service flow, you’ll balance hands-on service with leadership responsibilities. Objectives of this role:
- Lead and supervise M&E operations to ensure exceptional event delivery across meetings, conferences, and banqueting.
- Support, train, and mentor the M&E team, working closely with wider F&B colleagues across bar and restaurant.
- Maintain compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety standards across all event spaces.
- Manage stock, ordering, and cost controls to optimise event efficiency and revenue.
- Respond to client and guest feedback with professionalism, turning challenges into opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
People
- Supervise the M&E team during event setup, service, and breakdown, providing clear direction and support.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members to develop event service skills and confidence.
- Lead pre-event briefings to share client requirements, run sheets, and service standards.
- Handle client and guest concerns or feedback calmly and professionally.
- Foster a positive, team-focused environment where staff feel motivated and supported.

Quality
- Ensure event spaces are set up and serviced to brand, client, and presentation standards.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment across all M&E areas.
- Monitor food safety and HACCP procedures during event service, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Liaise with clients to understand event requirements and translate them into flawless on-the-day delivery.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure event spaces are guest-ready ahead of every function.
- Coordinate with kitchen, catering, housekeeping, and AV teams to ensure smooth event execution.
Profit
- Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier communication for event supplies and consumables.
- Reduce waste through efficient planning, portioning, and careful monitoring across events.
- Drive upselling of event packages, add-ons, and seasonal promotions to maximise revenue.
- Ensure accurate billing, cash handling, and reconciliation of event charges.
- Support departmental financial goals by controlling costs and improving event efficiency.
- Plan and deliver events that support hotel profitability and build repeat client business.
Responsible Business
- Comply with food safety legislation, licensing, and company policies.
- Promote sustainable practices, including waste reduction and recycling.
- Report and address maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Protect guest confidentiality and handle data responsibly.
- Treat all team members and guests with fairness and respect.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards including any hotel-specific brand standards.
- Complete all E-learning and mandatory training within required timeframes.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in an event operations or hospitality supervisory role. (Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of M&E service standards, event setup, and banqueting operations.
- Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, health and safety, and licensing regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Organised, proactive, and confident in decision-making, with strong client-facing skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced event environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays in line with the event calendar.
- Comfortable handling client and guest concerns professionally and effectively.
- Proficient in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
