Contract type: Permanent, full-time (Monday–Friday). We will also consider candidates who are looking for a 4-day week.

Eligibility: UK-based applicants only – we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at this time.

About Oddbox: As much as 2.5 billion tonnes of food are wasted globally every year – which plays a big part in the climate crisis. We’re on a mission to change that, with rescued fruit and veg from hard-working growers as well as plastic-free ingredients and brands that do good for the planet. With fruit, veg and more delivered right to your door, we’re working towards a fairer food system - one where growers are supported and paid fairly, where produce doesn’t have to look ‘perfect’ and, most importantly, a food system where we never waste taste. No more unnecessary air miles or plastic - just delicious food that fights waste with every box.

The Role: We’re looking for a Commercial Manager to lead the charge in diversifying our product range and unlocking new revenue streams. This is not a traditional sales role - it’s a strategic product & commercial position focused on shaping what we sell and how we price it. You’ll identify and validate new product opportunities, build the commercial strategy to grow AOV and LTV, and ensure each new range contributes meaningfully to our financial performance. You’ll work closely with procurement, operations, marketing, and finance to drive innovation and deliver products our customers will love.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Range Expansion & Innovation (NPD): Analyse customer feedback, market trends, and data to identify new range opportunities and “white space.” Support procurement in sourcing and onboarding new suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring strong quality and margin performance. Ensure all new products are suitable for D2C fulfilment — considering packaging durability, weight-to-value ratios, and shelf life.
  • Commercial Strategy & Unit Economics: Design pricing hierarchies and bundling strategies to increase AOV and support subscription behaviours. Own product P&L performance, closely monitoring COGS, fulfilment costs, and packaging costs. Develop commercial propositions that reduce churn and increase retention (e.g., exclusive subscription tiers or loyalty incentives).
  • Online Merchandising & Launch Execution: Lead the go-to-market approach for new product launches, ensuring seamless sourcing, marketing, and website merchandising. Forecast initial demand for new ranges to support operations - balancing risk of overstocking vs early sell-out.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Relationship and performance management
  • Supplier negotiation
  • Influencing skills
  • Risk management
  • Planning & commercial strategy
  • Problem solving & adaptability
  • Financial & budgetary literacy
  • High spreadsheet competency
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, time-pressured environment

Required Experience:

  • Experience within a D2C brand in a commercial role with a track record of driving range performance
  • Strong commercial numeracy, with an understanding of D2C metrics (CAC, LTV, AOV, Gross Margin after shipping)
  • Hands-on experience taking physical products from concept to launch (sourcing, costing, packaging)
  • Strong understanding of local and international supply chains
  • Experience analysing market and customer trends to drive product and commercial decisions
  • Supplier and/or customer management experience

Mindset & Behaviours:

  • Passionate about Oddbox’s mission and reducing food waste
  • Genuine love for the food industry
  • Forward-thinking and open to change
  • Mindful, inclusive, and people-centric
  • Positive and entrepreneurial – solutions-driven approach
  • Autonomous, driven, and proactive

Nice to Have:

  • Experience across multiple grocery categories
  • A strong network of industry contacts
  • Experience in B2C or subscription-led businesses

Why Join Us: You’ll shape the products customers will physically taste and enjoy - and see the commercial impact in real time. High ownership to build new categories from scratch.

Our company benefits include 33 days’ annual leave.
