Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Carpenter/Joiner role based in Pudsey. The Carpenter/Joiner will work on residential and commercial construction projects, including installing structural framing, doors, windows, floors, and built-in furniture. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and cutting materials, assembling and installing wooden components, and carrying out finish carpentry such as trim, skirting, architraves, and cabinetry. The role involves using a range of hand tools and power tools, reading and interpreting drawings, and collaborating with site managers and other trades to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. The Carpenter/Joiner is expected to maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all site health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong carpentry skills, including experience with structural framing and finish carpentry.
- Proficient use of hand tools (e.g., saws, chisels, planes) and power tools (e.g., drills, nail guns, circular saws).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, measurements, and specifications.
- Experience working on residential and/or commercial construction sites, with a focus on quality workmanship and attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills, time management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of and commitment to health and safety standards on construction sites.
- Relevant carpentry/joinery qualification or apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience.
- Full, reliable transportation to travel to the Pudsey site and other locations if required; CSCS card is an advantage.
