Overview
A respected and well-established law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant to join its busy Private Client team, working across its Bexleyheath and Petts Wood offices. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills and a genuine interest in supporting clients through sensitive and important legal matters such as wills, probate, and estate planning.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls professionally, including arranging appointments, liaising with third parties, and providing client updates.
- Open, maintain, and close electronic files in line with firm procedures.
- Prepare and send invoices accurately.
- Draft letters and legal documents under supervision.
- Record time spent on matters using the electronic case management system.
- Manage key dates and deadlines within the case management system.
- Maintain well-organised electronic files and carry out general administrative tasks (e.g., scanning, photocopying).
- Respond promptly to incoming calls as part of a shared telephone rota.
- Greet clients and assist with front-desk responsibilities when required.
- Provide ad hoc support to fee earners, including those in other departments, based on business needs.
- Comply with all internal policies and procedures.
