Oculus are now working with a well-established Nottingham firm, looking for a Junior Employment Solicitor to support the continued growth of both the department and the wider practice. This is a solid role for someone at the early stage of their career who has already gained some exposure to employment law and is looking to take the next step by handling more responsibility, developing a varied caseload, and working closely with experienced lawyers in a supportive setting.

The work will include:

  • Handling Employment Tribunal claims from instruction through to resolution
  • Advising on dismissal disputes including unfair dismissal issues
  • Supporting clients on discrimination-related matters
  • Advising on workforce changes including redundancies and restructuring
  • Assisting with TUPE transfers and related advisory work
  • Providing day-to-day employment advice to business clients
  • Gradually taking ownership of your own caseload with guidance where needed

Looking for someone with:

  • NQ - to 2 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Previous exposure to employment law work within a team setting
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Initiative and a problem-solving mindset
  • A collaborative attitude and willingness to support others
