A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Office Manager to lead the Facilities function at one of its regional offices (East Midlands). This is a hands-on role combining office operations, reception oversight, and facilities/H&S management, suited to an organised, personable team player with strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day office operations: supplies, post/DX, equipment, and general upkeep/repairs
- Oversee reception staff (rotas, holiday/lunch cover) and provide a professional front-of-house presence
- Manage facilities contracts (cleaning, security, catering, parking) and building projects/refurbishments
- Support GDPR/data compliance and archiving processes
- Contribute to ISO and sustainability/carbon targets
- General admin support, meeting room bookings, and maintaining office presentation standards
- Act as site H&S representative: fire risk assessments, drills, extinguisher checks, weekly alarm tests
- Conduct and document regular premises inspections, escalating issues as needed
- Manage contractor compliance on-site
- Deliver H&S induction training to new starters
- Ensure adequate first aid/fire marshal cover and overall fire safety compliance
