This is a senior-level opportunity to work at the forefront of regulatory and professional discipline law. You will manage a varied caseload involving fitness to practise proceedings, where professionals face allegations relating to misconduct, clinical failings, criminal convictions, competency concerns, or health-related issues. Cases range from large-scale fraud and systemic clinical failings to sensitive matters involving vulnerable individuals and serious allegations of inappropriate behaviour. • Take ownership of complex, high-risk regulatory and disciplinary cases from instruction through to conclusion
• Lead on case strategy, procedural planning, and evidential assessment
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong and trusted relationships
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior lawyers and support staff
• Provide clear, practical, and strategic advice to clients, counsel, and experts
• Act as an escalation point for legal and strategic issues within the team
• Instruct and liaise with counsel and expert witnesses, including preparation of briefs and conferences
• Review witness evidence and expert reports, identifying issues and areas for clarification
• Prepare high-quality submissions, reports, and case documents
• Contribute to business development, client engagement, and profile-raising initiatives
• Support continuous improvement, training, and knowledge sharing across the team

We are looking for a confident and experienced regulatory lawyer who can operate with a high degree of autonomy. You will likely have:

• Significant experience in regulatory, disciplinary, professional standards, or litigation work
• Strong exposure to fitness to practise or equivalent regulatory proceedings
• Proven ability to manage complex, sensitive, and high-risk matters independently
• Experience supervising and developing junior team members
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, counsel, and experts
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues early and provide clear, strategic solutions
