An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Manager to join a well-established, Legal 500-ranked law firm recognised by The Times Best Law Firms.

This is a hands-on leadership role supporting the partners with the day-to-day operational management of a growing, multi-office practice.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the firm, maintaining regulatory compliance and driving operational improvements across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the firm's three offices.
  • Ensure compliance with SRA regulations and prepare for regulatory and HMRC audits.
  • Manage and improve internal compliance procedures, risk management and governance.
  • Oversee practice management systems and operational processes.
  • Support the Criminal, Civil and Conveyancing teams with operational best practice.
  • Manage credit control processes and work with fee earners to improve cash collection.
  • Oversee HR operations, ensuring compliance with current and forthcoming employment legislation.
  • Review and implement policies, procedures and operational improvements.
  • Work closely with the partners to support the firm's continued growth and strategic objectives.
  • Lead and support administrative and operational staff across the business.

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have

  • Previous experience as a Practice Manager, Legal Operations Manager or similar within a law firm.
  • Experience working within a multi-office legal practice.
  • Strong understanding of SRA compliance, Solicitors Accounts Rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience preparing for SRA and HMRC audits.
  • Knowledge of Criminal and Civil law environments, with exposure to Conveyancing highly advantageous.
  • Experience overseeing HR, operational management and credit control.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with the ambition to contribute to the firm's future growth.
