- You will have responsibility for your own portfolio of liability claims while also working alongside senior lawyers on more complex matters.
- The scope of work is broad and may include:
- Defending employers' and public liability claims

- Supporting clients facing health and safety investigations
- Regulatory and enforcement proceedings involving businesses and individuals
- Police, CQC and other external investigations
- Coroners' inquests
- Insurance coverage and indemnity issues
- Incident response and wider crisis management
- The caseload offers genuine variety, ranging from routine defended claims through to substantial multi-party disputes and sensitive matters requiring a strategic approach.
The opportunity:
This role would suit someone looking to move into a practice where they can develop a broader skill set and work across contentious insurance and regulatory matters. You will work closely with experienced partners and senior colleagues, take increasing ownership of client relationships and contribute to the development of the team's client base and market profile.
You can expect to:
- Run your own caseload with a high degree of autonomy
- Support on larger and more technically demanding disputes
- Advise clients responding to investigations and potential enforcement action
- Manage matters involving multiple stakeholders and competing commercial considerations
- Build strong relationships with insurer and corporate clients
- Work collaboratively across different practice areas to deliver practical solutions
What we're looking for:
The firm is interested in speaking with lawyers who have a background in insurance litigation, casualty work, liability claims or related contentious practice areas. Experience of EL/PL claims would be particularly relevant, although candidates with exposure to regulatory, health and safety, inquest or broader insurance disputes work are also likely to be of interest.
