Legal Assistant – Asset Based Lending

Our client is seeking a motivated Legal Assistant to join their Asset Based Lending (ABL) team in Manchester. You’ll play a key role in supporting transactions from start to finish, managing documentation, and liaising with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone with a transactional paralegal/legal support background who is looking to step into the busy and rewarding world of ABL.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing client onboarding and file openings
  • Drafting and reviewing security documentation
  • Supporting on refinancing, acquisition finance, and secured lending matters
  • Handling security registrations, removals, and Companies House searches
  • Assisting with post-completion administration
  • Supervising and supporting junior paralegals where needed
  • General team support and ad-hoc duties as required

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in a transactional legal environment (banking, finance, corporate, real estate finance, or securitisation)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • A proactive approach, able to use initiative and remain calm under pressure
  • Genuine interest in commercial law and finance with a desire to develop
