A well-established law firm is looking to appoint a Paralegal to join its Medical Negligence team. This is a fee-earning role handling a varied caseload and supporting clients through the claims process from instruction through to resolution. The position suits someone with experience in medical negligence who is looking to make that step up into handling their own files.
- Meeting clients in person and by telephone to take instructions
- Completing risk assessments, due diligence checks, and conflict checks
- Obtaining and reviewing medical records and building case chronologies
- Preparing preliminary financial loss calculations
- Drafting legal documents including Letters of Claim, Witness Statements, and instructions to experts and Counsel
- Keeping clients updated throughout the progression of their claim
- Carrying out legal research to support case preparation
- Supporting wider team activity including networking and business development
Experience working in medical negligence.
