We are working with an established and highly regarded law firm who are looking to recruit an experienced and professional Conveyancing Assistant to join their Residential Conveyancing team in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary or Conveyancing Assistant with a background in Residential Conveyancing who enjoys working closely with fee earners, clients and third parties and wants to become an integral part of a friendly and supportive property team.

The Role

  • Working closely with the Conveyancing team, you'll provide dedicated secretarial and administrative support, assisting with the preparation and progression of post completion matters and ensuring files are managed accurately and efficiently.
  • Assisting fee earners with all aspects of post-completion conveyancing matters.
  • Preparing and submitting Land Registry applications, including registrations, transfers and discharges.
  • Dealing with Land Registry requisitions and ensuring these are responded to within required timescales.
  • Preparing and submitting AP1, DS1, TR1 and other relevant Land Registry forms.
  • Managing and progressing post-completion files through to registration and closure.
  • Updating and maintaining electronic case management systems and ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Liaising with HM Land Registry, clients, solicitors, lenders and other third parties to resolve post-completion matters.
  • Dealing with redemption statements, title documents and registration requirements.
  • Monitoring outstanding post-completion tasks and ensuring matters progress efficiently and within relevant deadlines.
  • Assisting with file closures, archiving and returning documents once matters have been completed.

About You

  • Experienced within a Post-Completion or Conveyancing environment, with a strong understanding of the processes involved following completion.
  • Experienced dealing with Land Registry applications, registrations and requisitions essential.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to manage outstanding matters and deadlines.
  • Confident handling a varied caseload of post-completion matters and prioritising work effectively.
  • Comfortable using legal case management systems and other IT platforms, with strong administrative skills.
  • Confident communicating professionally with clients, solicitors, lenders, HM Land Registry and other third parties.
  • Professional, friendly and approachable, with a strong focus on delivering excellent client service.
  • Able to work independently, use initiative and take ownership of post-completion matters.
