This is not a steady-state role. This is a build-and-scale opportunity. We’re working with a high-growth, modern law firm that is deliberately investing in its residential conveyancing offering and is now looking for a senior leader to take full ownership of it. This role exists because the firm is expanding, not because someone has left. The platform is there, the work is there, and the appetite to grow is very real. If you are the type of conveyancer who enjoys building teams, refining systems and leaving a genuine mark, this role gives you the chance to do exactly that. You will not be inheriting a tired department. You will be shaping how conveyancing is delivered as the firm scales.
This is currently a full-time office-based role. The firm is at a stage where collaboration, pace and consistency matter. Hybrid working is planned, but right now the focus is on growth, momentum and getting things right.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and developing the Residential Conveyancing department
- Setting processes, workflows and service standards as the team grows
- Managing, mentoring and hiring solicitors, conveyancers and support staff
- Overseeing complex matters where required
- Driving efficiency through legal tech and case management systems
- Working closely with senior leadership on growth strategy and resourcing
- Taking responsibility for quality, compliance and profitability
What they’re looking for:
- Around 10+ years’ experience in residential conveyancing
- Open to Solicitors, CLC or CILEX-qualified professionals
- Proven leadership experience or clear readiness to step into a Head of role
- Tech-savvy, with hands-on experience using platforms such as Clio, InfoTrack or similar
- Commercially minded and comfortable building something at pace
- Confident, accountable and decisive
Why this role stands out:
- Rare opportunity to build and lead a department, not just manage one
- Strong backing and investment from senior leadership
- Modern, tech-led approach to residential conveyancing
- Clear long-term progression as the firm continues to scale
