Lead a Department. Shape the Future. Build Something Meaningful.
We're currently working with a highly regarded law firm that is looking to appoint a senior property lawyer to take a leading role in the continued growth and development of its Property Department. While the formal title may suggest a senior fee-earning position, the reality is that this is a genuine leadership opportunity. The firm is looking for someone who wants to do more than simply manage a caseload. They want a lawyer who can help shape the department, support junior lawyers, strengthen client relationships and play a key role in the firm's long-term growth strategy. For the right individual, this offers the chance to step into a position of real influence and become the driving force behind an already successful property offering.
The Opportunity
The department advises a broad range of clients across commercial property matters and has established relationships with businesses, investors, developers and owner-managed companies. The successful candidate will be expected to take a leading role in developing the practice, helping to grow the client base and supporting the wider strategic objectives of the firm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical legal expertise with leadership, mentoring and business development.

- Advising on property finance and investment transactions
- Supporting private company acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Mentoring and developing junior lawyers within the team
- Building and strengthening referral networks and client relationships
- Working closely with senior management on the future direction of the department
What They're Looking For
- An experienced Commercial Property Solicitor, could be someone with 7+ years PQE
- Strong technical expertise across a broad range of commercial property matters
- Proven business development and client relationship skills
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
- Commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial mindset
- Someone who enjoys taking ownership and helping to grow a practice
- A collaborative leader who can inspire confidence internally and externally
Why This Role Stands Out
- Genuine department leadership opportunity
- Significant autonomy and influence
- Strong support from an ambitious leadership team
- Attractive bonus structure
- Flexible approach to managing your time
- Clear opportunity to make a lasting impact on a growing practice
This is the type of opportunity that rarely reaches the open market. It would suit an ambitious senior commercial property lawyer who wants more than a title and is looking for a platform to build, lead and leave their mark.
