I’m working with a long-established, forward-thinking law firm that is looking to recruit a Family Lawyer to join its growing and highly supportive Family team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to step into a high-quality caseload within a genuinely flexible, people-first environment, without sacrificing the standard or complexity of work.
The Role
- You’ll take ownership of your own caseload of private family matters, supported by experienced colleagues and strong administrative support.
- The work is varied and includes complex, often mid to high-net-worth financial cases alongside broader private family matters.
- You’ll be involved in:
- Managing your own caseload from instruction through to resolution
- Advising on both negotiated outcomes and court proceedings
- Supporting clients through sensitive and often complex issues
- Working with ADR where appropriate, alongside litigation when required
- Building strong, trusted client relationships
Membership of Resolution is preferred, or a willingness to join and adopt its collaborative approach.
The Culture
This is a firm with a genuinely strong reputation for culture and retention. Many of the team have joined from London firms and stayed because of the improved work-life balance and supportive environment. You’ll be joining a team that values trust, flexibility and quality over volume, with a clear focus on doing good work in a sustainable way.
Benefits
- Competitive salary: £45,000–£55,000 depending on experience
- Hybrid working (2 days per week in the office)
- Genuine flexibility around personal commitments
- Strong individual bonus scheme (with high uptake across the team)
- Firm-wide bonus
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing to 30 with service)
- Christmas closure
- Birthday half-day + wellness day
- Private medical insurance after 1 year
- Regular social and charity events
- Flexible, family-friendly culture
Career Progression
The firm has a clear structure from Assistant through to Associate and Salaried Partner level, with a strong emphasis on internal development and long-term progression. If you’re a Family Lawyer and looking for a role where you can do high-quality work in a genuinely supportive and balanced environment, I’d be happy to have a confidential conversation.
