We’re working with a well-established law firm looking to hire an experienced Conveyancing Assistant into their busy Residential Property team in Colchester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 12 months’ residential conveyancing experience to join a supportive and friendly team environment, assisting fee earners with files from instruction through to post-completion.

The Role

We are seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to support the Residential Property team with a varied caseload of conveyancing matters. You will work closely with conveyancing fee earners, providing essential support to ensure transactions progress efficiently from start to finish.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting fee earners with residential conveyancing transactions from instruction to completion
  • Preparing and issuing client quotes
  • Managing post-completion matters
  • Using the firm’s case management system effectively
  • Liaising with clients, agents, solicitors, and third parties throughout transactions
  • Assisting with file management and administrative tasks

About You

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience within Residential Conveyancing
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of residential conveyancing procedures
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Strong time management abilities and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • A team player with a proactive and hardworking approach
  • Comfortable using case management systems
