A well-established Top 200 UK law firm is seeking a Medical Negligence Solicitor to join its growing and highly regarded clinical negligence team in either Cambridge or Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with 1–4 years' PQE to develop their career within a supportive and ambitious team, handling a varied caseload of claimant medical negligence matters. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced specialists on complex, high-value claims while also managing their own files and building strong client relationships.

The Role

You will advise clients on a broad range of clinical negligence matters, providing clear and compassionate legal guidance throughout the claims process. The role offers exposure to complex and sensitive cases, with opportunities to work on matters involving serious injuries, delayed diagnoses, surgical errors, birth injuries and other healthcare-related claims.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing your own caseload of medical negligence claims from inception through to resolution.
  • Assisting senior lawyers on complex and high-value matters.
  • Providing practical, client-focused legal advice and maintaining excellent standards of client care.
  • Drafting legal documentation, witness statements and correspondence.
  • Liaising with medical experts, counsel and other professionals.
  • Supporting business development initiatives and helping to raise the profile of the team.
  • Ensuring files are progressed efficiently while meeting billing and performance objectives.
