We're working with an established London law firm that is looking to bring in a senior Private Wealth / Residential Property Partner to help develop and grow an already successful property practice. This is a role for someone who has reached the stage in their career where they have built a reputation, developed trusted relationships and established their own following, but may be looking for a platform that gives them greater autonomy and a more direct connection between the work they generate and what they can earn.

The firm is particularly interested in someone whose practice is fundamentally focused on high-value residential and private wealth real estate, rather than a traditional commercial property partner with a small residential element. And importantly, this isn't simply about inheriting a desk and maintaining the status quo. The ambition is to find someone who wants to build, rainmake and cross-refer, with a remuneration structure designed to reward exactly that.

The Practice

  • Core practice will be heavily weighted towards prime residential and private wealth real estate, including:
    • Prime Central London residential property
    • Country estates and high-value rural property
    • Investment acquisitions for HNW and UHNW individuals
    • Complex ownership structures involving trusts, offshore vehicles and family investment entities
    • Portfolio management and acquisitions for wealthy families
    • High-value property transactions for entrepreneurs and business owners
    • Commercial and investment property matters where they form part of a wider client's portfolio

We're looking for someone who can prove they have a following, knows how to generate work and is prepared to back themselves.

The Remuneration

The firm is prepared to offer a guaranteed package in the region of £120,000-£150,000, depending on the individual and their existing practice. Beyond the guarantee, there is scope to earn significantly more through a percentage of:

  • Partnership/Equity
  • Internally referred work that you develop

For someone bringing an established practice in the £400k-£600k billing range, there is scope to discuss a higher guarantee and a package that properly reflects the value of the practice being transferred. The firm provides the platform. You bring the relationships and the ambition. If you grow the practice, you participate meaningfully in the upside.

Who We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with current Salaried Partners and very senior property lawyers who have established themselves within the private wealth property market. You might currently sit within a leading private client, property or HNW-focused practice where property forms a significant part of your client offering.

You'll ideally have:

  • A strong reputation within the residential/private wealth property market
  • Significant experience in prime residential property
  • Experience with country estates and/or high-value rural property
  • A client base of HNW/UHNW individuals, entrepreneurs, families or family offices
  • A demonstrable personal following
  • Strong referral relationships
  • Experience advising on complex ownership structures and investment property
  • Some commercial property capability
  • A genuine appetite for business development and rainmaking
  • The confidence to back yourself commercially

Why This Opportunity?

  • £120k-£150k guaranteed package (potentially higher)
  • Equity/Percentage of Partnership
  • Significant earning potential above guarantee
  • Performance-linked remuneration
  • Genuine opportunity to build your own practice
  • Strong existing platform and referral network
  • Prime residential and private wealth focus
  • Opportunity to work with HNW and UHNW clients
  • Scope for a higher guarantee for an established £400k-£600k practice

This is ultimately an opportunity for a senior property lawyer who has already built something valuable and wants a platform where they can continue to grow it, whilst having a much clearer relationship between the business they generate and their personal earning potential. If you're confident in your following, confident in your ability and want a platform that will back you, this is a conversation worth having.
