About the Role

As a Court of Protection Paralegal, you’ll play a key role in supporting solicitors handling a wide range of matters involving deputyship applications, mental capacity issues, property and financial affairs management, and personal welfare cases.

You’ll work closely with clients, families, case managers, and medical professionals to help protect the rights and interests of vulnerable individuals. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop specialist expertise in a highly rewarding area of law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting solicitors with deputyship and trusteeship applications to the Court of Protection
  • Drafting correspondence, witness statements, and court documents
  • Managing client files and maintaining accurate records
  • Liaising with clients, medical professionals, and the Office of the Public Guardian
  • Handling day-to-day management of client finances under supervision
  • Supporting billing, compliance, and file management processes

About You

  • A law degree or equivalent legal qualification (LPC/SQE preferred but not essential)
  • Prior experience in Court of Protection, Private Client, or Mental Capacity work is highly desirable
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Empathy and professionalism when dealing with sensitive client matters
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems
