A well-established and respected law firm is seeking an experienced Care Solicitor to join its Birmingham office as a Senior Supervising Solicitor within the Care team. This is a key appointment within a growing department and offers the opportunity to play an integral role in the future development of the team. With increasing volumes of work, the successful candidate will help provide leadership, supervision and technical support whilst maintaining a varied caseload of public law children matters.

The Role

  • Manage a caseload of complex public law children matters from inception to conclusion
  • Represent parents, children and other family members in care proceedings
  • Support the Partner with supervision, technical guidance and day-to-day management of the team
  • Assist in the development and mentoring of junior lawyers
  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the department
  • Play a key role in the firm's succession planning and long-term strategy

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or equivalent
  • Ideally 5-10 years' PQE within Care proceedings
  • Strong experience handling publicly funded children matters
  • Previous supervisory or mentoring experience would be advantageous
  • Children Panel Accreditation is highly desirable
  • Strong technical knowledge and excellent client care skills
