- Implement the firm’s accounts and invoicing procedures in line with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and office manual.
- Ensure that Client, Office, and other ledgers are properly maintained and fully compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- Carry out bank reconciliations and produce month-end and management account reports, including cashflow analysis.
- Manage credit control processes and oversee VAT returns.
- Coordinate the firm’s outsourced payroll function.
- Liaise with auditors for the preparation of annual accounts and the accountant’s report.
- Supervise any Accounts Assistants and support wider office management duties such as stationery and equipment procurement.
- Keep up to date with changes to the law and Solicitors Accounts Rules, ensuring the firm remains compliant.
- Provide excellent client care and maintain a high standard of professionalism in all dealings with third parties.
- Support the management team in implementing the firm’s business plan and maintaining effective internal controls.
- Take responsibility for ongoing professional development and ensure all work is performed accurately and reliably in line with the firm’s quality and risk procedures.
- Extensive experience managing accounts within a law firm.
- Strong understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules, VAT, and Money Laundering Regulations.
- Previous experience working within a Lexcel-accredited firm is essential.
- Excellent IT skills, including experience with case management systems.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to work independently.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of integrity.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take over from the firm’s long-serving Accounts Manager, who is retiring after more than 25 years with the practice.
