Oculus Legal Group are exclusively partnered with a well-established national organisation to appoint a Senior Employment Counsel into its highly regarded Employment Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer seeking a varied, advisory-led role where you'll work closely with a broad portfolio of businesses, providing commercially focused employment law support across a wide range of workplace matters.

The role is predominantly home-based, with occasional travel to offices across the South or Midlands (once a week).

The team are looking for a qualified Employment Lawyer with substantial post-qualification experience, gained either in private practice or an advisory environment. You'll be confident providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice on the full spectrum of employment law issues and comfortable managing complex matters with minimal supervision.

  • Advising clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law and employee relations matters.
  • Managing Employment Tribunal claims from initial instruction through to resolution, with advocacy experience advantageous.
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, procedures and related documentation.
  • Delivering employment law training, seminars and legal updates to clients.
  • Building trusted client relationships while providing practical, commercially driven legal advice.
  • Have significant employment law experience advising employer clients.
  • Can independently manage Employment Tribunal litigation.
  • Communicate complex legal issues in a clear, practical and commercial way.
  • Enjoy building long-term client relationships and delivering exceptional service.

Experience advising organisations within engineering, manufacturing, industrial or other commercially focused sectors would be advantageous, as would exposure to trade union matters, although neither is essential.
