We’re working with a well-regarded Legal 500 firm in Central London that is looking to hire a Head of Family with a focus on finance work, to lead and develop its established department. This is a standout opportunity for an experienced Family lawyer with a strong focus on financial remedy and children work, looking to step into a genuine leadership role. The firm has a solid platform and consistent flow of high-quality matters, and is now looking for someone to drive the team forward.
The role
You’ll take overall responsibility for the Family department, combining leadership, strategic input, and hands-on fee earning. The caseload is centred around complex financial and children matters, including:
- High-net-worth financial remedy cases, often involving complex asset structures
- Private children work, including residence, contact, and sensitive disputes
- Cases involving business assets, pensions, and international elements
- Advisory work around separation, including pre- and post-nuptial agreements
Alongside your own caseload, you’ll oversee and mentor junior Solicitors, play an active role in business development, and help grow the team’s profile in both financial and children work.
About you
- England & Wales qualified with significant experience in family law
- Strong track record in financial remedy and private children matters
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
- Commercial and confident in building client relationships
- Keen to take on a leadership role and shape a growing department
