A highly regarded, Legal 500 national law firm is seeking a talented Solicitor (0–6 years' PQE) to join its specialist Clinical Negligence team in Birmingham.

The Opportunity

This award-winning team represents clients in a wide range of complex clinical negligence matters, acting on life-changing cases involving catastrophic injuries and serious medical treatment failures.

You'll gain exposure to a diverse caseload that includes birth injury, brain injury, stroke, fatal claims and other complex medical negligence litigation.

The work is varied, technically challenging and often of significant value, making it ideal for someone who enjoys handling sophisticated litigation and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

The Role

As part of this nationally recognised team, you will

  • Manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters, including litigated cases.
  • Guide clients through complex legal processes with professionalism, empathy and outstanding client care.
  • Work closely with experienced lawyers, medical experts, counsel and healthcare professionals to build strong cases.
  • Support vulnerable clients and their families throughout sensitive and often life-changing claims.
  • Progress matters strategically from initial investigations through to settlement or trial, including pleadings, disclosure, expert evidence, negotiations and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the national team and contribute to business development initiatives that strengthen the firm's market-leading reputation.

About You

To be successful, you will have

  • 0–6 years' PQE with experience in clinical negligence or strong transferable litigation experience.
  • Ideally, experience acting for claimants, although candidates with relevant defendant or broader litigation backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Confidence managing complex or high-value litigation with a strong understanding of court procedures and case management.
  • Experience analysing medical and expert evidence, advising clients and progressing claims efficiently.
  • The ability to assist on strategically significant, high-value matters while developing your own caseload.
  • Excellent communication skills, commercial awareness and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional client care.
  • A collaborative approach combined with the confidence to work independently where required.
