Key Responsibilities- Casework & Legal Assistance
- Provide day-to-day support to multiple fee earners to help drive matters forward
- Prepare routine correspondence and contribute to the drafting of legal documents
- Liaise (under supervision) with clients, medical professionals, and other external parties
- Maintain accurate and well-structured case files, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible
- Assist with progressing matters, including contact with courts and experts where appropriate
- Track important deadlines and ensure timely follow-ups and reminders
- Undertake preliminary legal research to support ongoing cases
- Support the preparation of case materials and standard documentation
- Carry out all duties in line with internal policies and professional standards
- Manage incoming post, including scanning and distribution across the team
- Coordinate outgoing correspondence for the department
- Process and upload medical records (both physical and digital formats) for use in disclosure, expert review, and audits
- Maintain organised electronic and paper filing systems
- Provide general administrative assistance such as data entry, document handling, and other support tasks as needed
- Keep knowledge of Clinical Negligence practice areas up to date and engage in ongoing development
- Offer support to colleagues during busy periods or absences
- Follow firm procedures to minimise risk and uphold professional standards
- Work towards agreed performance and productivity goals
