Job Description
The Sales & Quotations Executive provides a faster, more efficient route for customer requests, quotation development, and technical coordination, while proactively managing smaller customers through a structured account contact cycle.
The role will align sales resource, capability, and cost to customer value and opportunity potential; freeing senior account management and Technical Design Engineer capacity to focus on strategic, higher-value accounts, while ensuring smaller customers continue to receive a proactive and consistent level of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Quotations & Technical Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer quotation requests, ensuring a fast and efficient response.
- Prepare, issue, and track quotations, coordinating directly with the Technical Design team on technical content and specification.
- Qualify and prioritise incoming requests before passing to Design, reducing internal delays and rework.
- Own the end-to-end quotation process for smaller accounts, from request through to follow-up and close.
- Ensure every quotation is qualified, prioritised, and commercially reviewed prior to issue; no quote progresses without appropriate governance.
- Maintain clear ownership and audit trail of all quotation activity within CRM.
- Structured Account Management (Smaller Customers )
- Manage a defined base of smaller customer accounts through a structured, tiered call cycle.
- Conduct regular proactive account reviews and scheduled customer calls - not only reactive engagement when a requirement arises.
- Follow up on outstanding quotations to drive conversion.
- Identify additional customer requirements and opportunities within the account base.
- Promote wider Ocular Integration solutions and services to existing customers (cross-sell/upsell).
- Support renewal and retention activity across the managed account base.
- Maintain accurate, current account and contact records in CRM.
- Governance & Reporting
- Provide clear visibility of quotation pipeline, conversion, and account contact activity within CRM
- Flag opportunities with strategic or multi-site potential for handover to senior/strategic account management.
- Report against KPIs on a regular (e. g. monthly) basis.
Skills & Personal Qualities
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a high volume of concurrent quotations and accounts.
- Confident, proactive telephone and written communicator.
- Commercially aware - able to qualify and prioritise opportunities rather than simply process requests.
- Collaborative - works closely and effectively with Technical Design and senior Sales colleagues.
Qualifications
- Experience in an internal sales, sales support, or quotations role, ideally within a technical, project-based, or B2B environment.
- Experience managing a structured customer call/contact cycle.
- Comfortable coordinating with technical teams to translate customer requirements into accurate quotations.
